چکیده

This paper presents a method for recognizing human actions by tracking body parts without using artificial markers. A sophisticated appearance-based tracking able to cope with occlusions is exploited to extract a probability map for each moving object. A segmentation technique based on mixture of Gaussians (MoG) is then employed to extract and track significant points on this map, corresponding to significant regions on the human silhouette. The evolution of the mixture in time is analyzed by transforming it in a sequence of symbols (corresponding to a MoG). The similarity between actions is computed by applying global alignment and dynamic programming techniques to the corresponding sequences and using a variational approximation of the Kullback-Leibler divergence to measure the dissimilirity between two MoGs. Experiments on publicly available datasets and comparison with existing methods are provided.

Markerless Based Human Motion Capture: A Survey

This literature survey attempts to recent developments and current state-of-the-art in the field of body analysis by the use of non-intrusive optical systems. Markerless based human motion capture describes the activity of analysing and expressing human motion in mathematical terms. The survey shows that the task of motion capture can be divided into a number of systematically distinct groups, ...

Markerless Self-Recognition and Segmentation of Robotic Manipulator in Still Images

Vision is a crucial capability for enabling robots to perceive and interact with their environment, e.g. manipulating or grasping objects. A current trend is bringing closer the aspects of interaction and perception, on the one hand by integrating visual information directly in the control process, and on the other hand, using interaction itself to help perception, allowing robots to explore th...

Analysis and Synthesis of Facial Expressions by Feature-Points Tracking and Deformable Model

Face expression recognition is useful for designing new interactive devices offering the possibility of new ways for human to interact with computer systems. In this paper we develop a facial expressions analysis and synthesis system. The analysis part of the system is based on the facial features extracted from facial feature points (FFP) in frontal image sequences. Selected facial feature poi...

Markerless Articulated Human Body Tracking from Multi-view Video with GPU-PSO

In this paper, we describe the GPU implementation of a markerless full-body articulated human motion tracking system from multi-view video sequences acquired in a studio environment. The tracking is formulated as a multidimensional nonlinear optimisation problem solved using particle swarm optimisation (PSO). We model the human body pose with a skeleton-driven subdivisionsurface human body mode...

Real-Time Markerless Human Body Tracking with Multi-View 3-D Voxel Reconstruction

We present an approach to full human-body tracking, using markerless multiview images as input, performing acquisition, reconstruction and tracking in real-time on a single PC. Our approach employs a hierarchical visual-hull algorithm which segments only the most interesting regions of the images and includes colour information. The tracking step uses blobs attached to a kinematic model to reco...
